The different histological types of ovarian cancer

The WHO classification separates several types and subtypes. Epithelial tumors can be benign, borderline, or malignant.

Epithelial tumors are most common in adults.
When it comes to cancers, serous tumors are the most common.
Among them, high-grade serous cancers are the most frequent.

Conversely, many malignant ovarian tumors are rare diseases: mucinous cancers, clear cell cancers, low-grade serous cancers, non-epithelial tumors. It is then recommended to use the help of the national network of rare gynecological tumors for their care (www.ovaire-rare.org).
