    Prevention

Vaccination is currently the most effective method for reducing the frequency of oncogenic HPV infections and therefore the occurrence of pre-cancerous lesions and cervical cancer.

We have 3 different vaccines in France:
      - One only concerns oncogenic HPV 16 and 18.
      - The second targets HPV 16 and 18 but also 2 types of HPV responsible for condyloma acuminata.
      - The latter is effective against 9 oncogenic and non-oncogenic HPVs.

They are offered for girls and boys aged 11 to 15, as well as for adults up to the age of 19 (especially for men who have sex with men)(www.has-sante.fr)
